The day commemorates the American flag, Old Glory, standing tall and flying free over American soil for 228 years is the symbol of: Freedom, Democracy, National Pride, and History. Many have lost their lives defending it.

Flag Day also marks for me [...]

By |March 10th, 2015|Career Development, Celebrations, Family, Fashion, Global, Holidays, Retail Stores, Travel, Women's Issues|

My favorite show for  Friday night relaxation is SAY YES TO THE DRESS on TLC.  Kleinfeld Bridal Shop in Manhattan/Chelsea is the focus of the show finding the perfect wedding dress for the bride. Randy, the manager is hilarious, and his staff is superb, professional and diplomatic, practicing finesse with family members to please.  Will the style be mermaid, ball gown, backless or strapless?  So many choices.

On our trip [...]

“The Great Pumpkin Will Come”, shouts Linus as he writes a letter every year to the Great Pumpkin to visit him in the pumpkin patch.  Charlie Brown is in disbelief and says it is a waste of time.  Peppermint Patty is convinced the Great Pumpkin is a fake.  And Snoopy is laughing. Love watching this TV special every October.  Will the Great Pumpkin come and bring Linus wisdom?  Should [...]

This month marks one year since my official retirement from a 40+ year career in retail…so how did I do this first year?

I really dislike the word retirement!  We have to find another way to describe the next phase.  I had lots of goals, (on paper) and have achieved many of them.  ‘Slowing down’ was never a goal, as the pitch of my day and calendar is full.  I [...]

Do You Remember Camp?

By |August 21st, 2014|Art, Education, Entertainment, Family, Food, Health and Wellness, Leadership, Passion, Sports, Travel, Women's Issues|

Did you go to Girl Scout Camp?  I remember feeling excitement and fear, loneliness being away from home, and liked the new friends I made adjusting to the experience. I loved my counselors and can still remember their names. I remember the smell of the tents and the mosquitoes. It was the north woods of Wisconsin, the land of the vicious bugs! Jumping into the cold lake water with [...]
