Olive Connection

By |June 9th, 2014|Education, Food, Health and Wellness, New Businesses, Travel|

I am passionate about Olives and Olive Oil. I use a lot of it. I try all kinds of brands, and always stop at olive oil stores in every city I visit. Crazy as it sounds, Morry and CJ and I  went to a 3 day Olive Oil Seminar and Tasting in NYC this summer. Famous tasters from around the world judged the best olive oils and gave awards. [...]

French Women Don’t Get Fat

By |June 5th, 2014|Business, Family, Food, Health and Wellness, Inspiration, Leadership, Travel, Women's Issues|

How women burn calories in France. Spinning… This video is will be worth your time. Will only take  a minute. It’s hilarious!

I am off to a cooking school in Provence with Patricia Wells.  I purchased her cookbook Patricia Wells At Home In Provence in 1996 when it first was released and have since then wanted to go to her cooking school.   I met her last year on a [...]

SWEET CAROLINE-A…North

By |May 21st, 2014|Business, Family, Fashion, Food, Health and Wellness, Home Decor, Inspiration, Selling, Travel, Women's Issues|

I now understand the meaning of Carolina Blue having spent 96 hours in North Carolina on the outer banks on Emerald Isle, with 3 of my dearest friends.  We worked together 35 years ago as merchants, buyers, designers, with a love of retail and just selling stuff.  How the colors of nature influence our choices in business and decorating our homes.  We marveled on how the palate of blues, [...]

Let Them Eat Kale/Carrots…or Cake?

By |April 28th, 2014|Business, Fashion, Food, Health and Wellness, Leadership, New Businesses, Politics, Sports, Travel|

I’m so confused on what to eat.  Too many rules, and too many things to remember.

We have the DETOX foods…I could use those, as you know I love my wine…

They are artichokes, citrus, sunflower seeds, lentils, garlic, red pepper, walnuts, turmeric, cucumber, broccoli.

Then there are the CLEANSE rules…some say juice for 3 days and that washes out the toxins.

Some say no meat for 7 days…(me, the carnivore, craved a piece [...]

100,000 Daffodils #WeRunTogether

By |April 22nd, 2014|Business, Fashion, Health and Wellness, Holidays, Inspiration, Sports|

One Hundred Thousand  bulbs were planted along the entire 26.2 mile stretch by Boston Marathon Daffodil Volunteers.  That’s a lot of holes to dig!

With all the emotional articles of the survivors, the tribute to those that died, the excitement and energy of Boston to take back the city BOSTON STRONG, I have been interested in what companies have done for their employees who were working or volunteering last year. [...]

Rocky Mountain High

By |February 25th, 2014|Business, Fashion, Food, Health and Wellness, New Businesses, Travel|

When in Rome?
Last week I was in Durango, Colorado, where my son lived for 7 years. I do love it there, sunny every day, blue sky, crisp clean air to breathe, and a sense of freedom. The style I call Arty Cowboy. A high school friend, Tari, lives nearby, so we met and started planning our 50th reunion. At lunch we asked our waiter about the closest dispensary. [...]

A Valentine For Mom

By |February 11th, 2014|Family, Health and Wellness, Holidays, Women's Issues|

Valentines Day is Friday and instead of waiting until Mother’s Day I decided this would be a perfect week to to celebrate my mother. I visited her in Milwaukee last week where the high was 4 degrees. Catherine (Tweet is the nickname) is 91 and lives in the house I grew up in with George, her second husband, (they married at 75). My father died when she was 73 [...]

Sharing Is Caring

By |February 4th, 2014|Health and Wellness, Travel, Uncategorized, Women's Issues|

It’s now the beginning of February and I have to admit it has been hard to get into a routine for 2014. The big adjustment is what do I wear every day? I put on the same clothes. When I was working sometimes I wore the same outfits back to back, but I was always with new people and they never knew. Exercise clothes go on first to make [...]

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND BEST WISHES FOR HAPPINESS AND GOOD HEALTH
I have never been successful with New Years Resolutions. Every newspaper, magazine, radio station has suggestions for us…mend relationships, become healthier, pay off debt, connect with community, help the poor.
Mine are the same every year:
loose weight, be nicer to my family, listen and ask more questions, don’t tell everyone what to do…you know the drill- really [...]
