Progress Takes Time

By |May 17th, 2015|Business, Design, Family, Fashion, Food, Friendship, Health and Wellness, Inspiration, Marketing, New Businesses, Olive Connection, Philanthropy, Products, Retail Stores, Selling, Uncategorized|

I’ve been busy, thus the lag time in writing my blog.  Everyone said our timing to open beginning June was too aggressive…and now I know why.  Takes more time than we envisioned.  We are a month delayed.  The good news is we have time to to show the space to our friends, whose opinions we trust, to give their ideas and suggestions and brainstorm.  Here is Alan and Pam, [...]

Hunters and Gatherers Shopping at Round Top, Texas

By |April 8th, 2015|Art, Business, Celebrations, Design, Fashion, Food, Friendship, Home Decor, Inspiration, Olive Connection, Products, Retail Stores, Selling, Travel, Women's Issues|

WHY did I go to Texas with 6 girlfriends?  My friend Sally, retail consultant,  coach for young buyers, creative thinker, and brand manager, GATHERED her friends together, those who she thought would be interested in 4 days of shopping for STUFF in a new environment that would explode our mind.

ROUND TOP is 80 miles from Austin and 80 miles from Houston.  Population 90, that bursts with thousands experiencing Southern [...]

Say ‘YES’ To The Dress

By |March 10th, 2015|Career Development, Celebrations, Family, Fashion, Global, Holidays, Retail Stores, Travel, Women's Issues|

My favorite show for  Friday night relaxation is SAY YES TO THE DRESS on TLC.  Kleinfeld Bridal Shop in Manhattan/Chelsea is the focus of the show finding the perfect wedding dress for the bride. Randy, the manager is hilarious, and his staff is superb, professional and diplomatic, practicing finesse with family members to please.  Will the style be mermaid, ball gown, backless or strapless?  So many choices.

On our trip [...]

Holiday Inspiration or NOT

By |December 18th, 2014|Celebrations, Entertainment, Family, Fashion, Friendship, Holidays, Home Decor, Inspiration, Politics, Retail Stores|

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL

Love Tiffany’s facade on 58th and 5th in NYC.  Yellow Diamonds…their brand identity. The day began with my early morning walking route, from 65th down Madison, cross 5th to the Rockefeller tree and NBC…Bergdorf and Saks windows, Bloomingdales first floor, and Barney’s.  I needed to get my ‘fix’ of holiday inspiration.

Adrenaline is high walking on 47th St diamond district through Times Square to Penn Station. I [...]

15.8# of paper…really?

By |May 27th, 2014|Business, Entertainment, Family, Fashion, Home Decor, Inspiration, Loyalty, Selling, Women's Issues|

Did you get this too? Delivered UPS from Restoration Hardware.  The neighborhood and tweets are buzzing with controversy as to who got it, and who didn’t.  Some of my friends are upset that they didn’t get it…is their neighborhood not cool enough, their houses not worth the big dollars, their taste in question, and  how was the data based marketing figured out?

Waste of paper, yes…but the books are good, [...]

SWEET CAROLINE-A…North

By |May 21st, 2014|Business, Family, Fashion, Food, Health and Wellness, Home Decor, Inspiration, Selling, Travel, Women's Issues|

I now understand the meaning of Carolina Blue having spent 96 hours in North Carolina on the outer banks on Emerald Isle, with 3 of my dearest friends.  We worked together 35 years ago as merchants, buyers, designers, with a love of retail and just selling stuff.  How the colors of nature influence our choices in business and decorating our homes.  We marveled on how the palate of blues, [...]

Blogs That Inspire Me

By |May 13th, 2014|Business, Education, Fashion, Food, Inspiration, Selling, Technology|

Everyone in the blogging world has those bloggers they follow faithfully.  When I ask friends their favorites, I get so many responses my head spins.  I’m sharing with you some that give me inspiration.

Let Them Eat Kale/Carrots…or Cake?

By |April 28th, 2014|Business, Fashion, Food, Health and Wellness, Leadership, New Businesses, Politics, Sports, Travel|

I’m so confused on what to eat.  Too many rules, and too many things to remember.

We have the DETOX foods…I could use those, as you know I love my wine…

They are artichokes, citrus, sunflower seeds, lentils, garlic, red pepper, walnuts, turmeric, cucumber, broccoli.

Then there are the CLEANSE rules…some say juice for 3 days and that washes out the toxins.

Some say no meat for 7 days…(me, the carnivore, craved a piece [...]

100,000 Daffodils #WeRunTogether

By |April 22nd, 2014|Business, Fashion, Health and Wellness, Holidays, Inspiration, Sports|

One Hundred Thousand  bulbs were planted along the entire 26.2 mile stretch by Boston Marathon Daffodil Volunteers.  That’s a lot of holes to dig!

With all the emotional articles of the survivors, the tribute to those that died, the excitement and energy of Boston to take back the city BOSTON STRONG, I have been interested in what companies have done for their employees who were working or volunteering last year. [...]

Bad Guys Beware…we’re on it

By |April 15th, 2014|Business, Education, Fashion, Technology|

I’ve been pick-pocketed at haymarket( I was naive), passport stolen in a hotel lobby (I let my guard down), hacked while ordering holiday gifts from the internet at an airport (bad guys bought shoes from Zappos minutes later), hacked while ordering theater tickets from a hotel wifi, bumped in the subway and the handsome young man looked me in the eye, and almost got my $ (it was hooked [...]
